What is Burn Out Syndrome?

There's being stressed and then there's being on the brink of a burnout. A full burn out consists of feeling empty and being mentally exhausted, devoid of motivation, and beyond caring. Synptoms include: Chronic fatigue. In the early stages, you may feel a lack energy and feel tired most days. Insomnia. Forgetfulness/impaired concentration and attention.

Physical differences.

Increased illness. Loss of appetite. Anxiety. Depression. The trouble with burnout is, our baseline of normality has shifted and at times its hard to realise what state you're in. It is a gradual progression which can be intervened at several points along the way. As usual, prevention is better than cure.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it is best to speak to someone professionally. Take a break and find the reset button.
